Canon announces 3 new cameras in the EOS lineup.

On February 15, 2017, Canon announced 2 new DSLRs (EOS 800D, EOS 77D)and one Mirrorless camera(EOS M6). The official pre-order has already been started and the cameras will be available from April 2017. EOS 800D is an entry level DSLR and EOS 77D is a mid range DSLR. Most of the features in these two cameras are similar. The EOS M6 is purely designed for the photography enthusiasts and travellers who love to shoot with mirrorless cameras only. Here are some of the features of these new cameras.

EOS 800D:

It is the new entry level DSLR from Canon with Canon’s Dual Pixel auto focus system. It includes an optical viewfinder with 45 cross-type autofocus points. The camera has built in Bluetooth, WiFi and NFC and has a DIGIC 7 image processor. It has a 24.2 megapixel APSC CMOS sensor(crop sensor) and the ISO sensitivity range is 100-25600. This camera shoots at 6fps and has a 3 inch touchscreen tiltable display. Time lapse and HDR movie modes are the added features in this camera and it costs around Rs.57,000/-(Body only).

EOS 77D:

This is a mid range camera with an additional top LCD panel. It has 7650-pixel RBG plus IR metering sensor and anti-flicker shooting mode. This is also a crop sensor camera. All other features are the same as the EOS 800D. This camera costs around Rs. 60,000/- (Body only).


It is a mirrorless camera with Dual Pixel CMOS AF system. It has the same DIGIC 7 image processor. It has a 24.2 megapixel APSC CMOS sensor and 5 axis image stabilization system. It shoots at 7fps and records full-HD video at 60fps. It also has an additional electronic viewfinder (EVF-DC2) which will be sold separately. Price of this mirror less camera is around Rs. 53,000/-(Body only).

Canon has also announced a new APSC lens (EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM) which is priced at around Rs.16,000/- and the size of this new 18-55mm kit lens is 20% smaller than the current 18-55mm kit lens.
