Galaxy Note 8 – First impression

The Galaxy Note 8 is finally here after all the leaks and rumors and most of the leaks are found to be pretty correct this time. The Galaxy Note 8 has been officially announced but there is information on Samsung India official website that when this device will hit the Indian market. Follow the blog and we will tell you all the new features about the new Galaxy Note 8.

The Design:

So the Galaxy Note 8 has the similar design language as that of the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus. Unlike the S series, the Note 8 has only one size variant which has a 6.3 inch infinity display and the aspect ratio is 18.5:9.

The corners of the Galaxy Note 8 are not curved as that of the Galaxy S8 and the S8 plus and the bigger screen provides a more larger room for multitasking. Also there are a lot of improvements in the AOD – Always on Display.

S Pen:

As we are talking about a Note device, we can’t ignore the features on the S Pen and this time the S Pen is more advance with couple of new features such as “Live message” where you can draw a design or text on a picture or video and share it as a GIF. Along with the new “Live message” feature the other features like “Smart select”, “Samsung Notes”, “Translate”, “Magnify” are also here in the Galaxy Note 8. Also with the S Pen, now you can write and pin up to 100 pages of notes on the AOD – Always on Display. Samsung has introduced this feature in the previous Note7, but this time they have improved this feature a bit more. Samsung has also improved the screenshot capture feature for the S Pen and now with this new S Pen you can take a long strip of Screenshot. So the coolest thing about this new S Pen is now it is water and dust resistant with IP68 rating. So in the Galaxy Note 8, both the phone body and the S Pen are water resistant.

Camera:

So let’s jump into the camera section or we can say cameras. Yes Samsung has also adapted the dual rear lens standard and both the lenses on the rear panel of the Galaxy Note 8 have 12 Megapixel Dual pixel sensors and both of them have OIS – Optical Image Stabilization. One of them is a standard lens and the second one is a 2X telephoto lens. The front camera is a 8 Megapixel shooter with the same dual pixel sensor. Samsung has improved the camera software and added a lot of new shooting options such as “Live focus” which is similar to the “Portrait mode” in the iPhone 7 Plus and the OnePlus 5  and “Dual Capture” where you can get two shots of the same picture and one of them is from the wide lens and the other is from the telephoto lens. The Dual OIS also can help to get better video. With the Galaxy Note 8 you can shoot upto 2K resolution. So there is no 4K video recording option for this time. But, Samsung might add it to the software in a future software update.

Performance:

The Galaxy Note 8 has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. Also with the expandable storage option you can add an external SD card up to 256GB. Samsung says with the Galaxy Note 8 you will get a better gaming and online streaming experience. The Galaxy Note 8 has a hybrid SIM and SD card slot so if you use dual SIM for your work, then there will not be any problem with the Galaxy Note 8. The Note 8 sports a 3300mAh battery which is very small comparing to the current industry standard. But Samsung says the highly optimized software will help you to save your battery life so that you can run your Galaxy Note 8 all day long. Also there is fast charging and wireless fast charging option available with this phone. For wireless fast charging you need to get the wireless charger separately. So these are the box contents that you will get with the Galaxy Note 8.

Coming to security, the Galaxy Note 8 has the same security options as that of the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus. Which are –

  1. Iris scan
  2. Face recognition
  3. Fingerprint scan
  4. Password
  5. Pattern
  6. PIN

These are the top features of the Galaxy Note 8 and there are some other features which are –
