Galaxy S8 will have a 1000fps camera!

These are some of the recently leaked information about the upcoming Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus. The latest rumor is about the camera and the Iris sensor of these phones. As per the leaks, the rear/main camera of these phones will be the same 12 Megapixel sensor with Dual Pixel technology. But the improvement is in the frame per second (fps). These cameras are rumored to come with 1000fps camera which will provide the best slow-mo (slow motion) video.

Fps is a parameter which is basically used in videography. Higher the frame rate, slower the video can be via post production. In general, feature films are shot with 24fps. Similarly the slow motion videos that we see in Nat Geo or Discovery channel are shot with maximum of 60 – 180fps. But as per rumors these new Galaxy phones will have the ability to shoot with 1000fps which is a much higher rate. Also 4k recording will be available in this phone similar to the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge, but we might get some improvement in 4k recording as well. This 1000fps speed can also help in getting great pictures of fast moving subjects.

Earlier this year at MWC17, Sony revealed their flagship phone of this year the Sony Xperia XZ which is capable of shooting 720P videos at 960fps. If Samsung comes up with 1000fps this will be the best camera on a smartphone in early 2017. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are capable of shooting 240fps at 720P resolution.

Also it is rumored that the Galaxy S8 will come with 8 Megapixel front facing camera with Dual Pixel technology. Earlier it was 5 Megapixel in the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and the dead Galaxy Note7. The unique feature of the Galaxy Note7 , the Iris scanner is rumored to be coming in the Galaxy S8. it was pretty obvious as the Galaxy Note7 died so soon the company will put this latest technology in somewhere else. It will help the Facial recognition technology in unlocking the phone and also in payment process through Samsung pay. These new flagship Galaxy phones may be available from April 28 as per the leaks from Evan Blass.
