So this camera has a lot of impressive features which are not available in several DSLRs. Read this article till the end and you will find all the information about the Sony RX10IV.
The RX10IV is a fixed lens camera that has a Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens and the range of this lens is 24-600mm or 25X optical zoom range. The aperture range of this fixed lens is f2.4-4 which is equivalent to f6.5-11 for 35mm standard sensor. The zoom range is marked as per 35mm equivalent sensor size. The RX10IV has a 1 inch type Exmor RS CMOS image sensor (20 megapixels) which has 2.7X crop factor.
The Sony RX10IV has a 3 inch tilting touch screen and it sports headphone, mic and HDMI jack. It also has inbuilt Wi-Fi functionality so that you can pair it to with your phone and computer.
Coming to photography, this RX10IV can shoot at 24 frames per second RAW files which most of the modern DSLRs can’t do. The RAW buffer point reaches after 100 images and if you are shooting in JPEG, you will get the buffer after 200 shots. The most interesting factors about this camera are – it has phase detect autofocus and 315 autofocus points. The AF speed is 0.03 second.
The RX10IV is a very good video camera as well. It can record full width 4K video at 30FPS and 1080P/ full HD video at 120FPS. It has SLog2 and SLog3 video profiles. With the mic jack and headphone jack you can also get great audio in your video using external mic.
Who is this for?
So that’s all about the Sony RX10IV. From the features we can say it is pretty good for wildlife, Sports and general travel photography and videography. But this is not a professional camera. Sony is targeting general consumers who don’t want the lens swapping functionality and the content creators who want a good quality package for their content creation. The Sony RX10IV is priced at $1700 which is around ₹1,10,000 which is way too pricy for a bridge camera. Sony will start shipping this camera in October 2017 and we to wait for some more time to get the Indian price for this camera. You may click here to check some sample picture with EXIF.
